JOIN has invested in six partnerships:

The Green Job Readiness Partnership is preparing low-skilled job seekers for employment in energy efficiency retrofitting, weatherization, and green building. The initiative is based on an innovative model that connects community-based organizations to a local trade association to build a pipeline for low-wage workers into mid-skilled jobs.

The Roots to Re-entry Partnership moves ex-offenders into high-demand jobs in landscaping and horticulture. The partnership provides inmates with 16 weeks of vocational and life-skills training both “behind the walls” at the prison’s garden and “outside the walls” at Bartram’s Garden in Southwest Philadelphia. Participants are then placed into jobs with local employers upon their release and provided with sustained wrap-around services.

The West Philadelphia Skills Initiative has a dual mission to support the human capital needs of West Philadelphia’s anchor institutions and mid-sized employers; and to connect West Philadelphians to opportunities for employment, advancement, and skill-building.

The Pennsylvania Partnership for Direct Care Workers moves entry-level healthcare workers and low-skilled job seekers into career pathways.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Workforce Development Partnership (SERAMIP) brings together employers, job training organizations, and schools to create a vibrant pipeline of skilled workers for the advanced manufacturing industry in Greater Philadelphia.

The Career Support Network is a new partnership that connects employment and health with the goal of helping people retain their jobs and advance in their careers. The Network links skills training, career coaching, and behavioral and physical health services in a holistic approach to combat barriers to employment for low-skilled adults.
